This method is used to determine carbon dioxide in ethanolamine solutions by a titrimetric method using color indicator. This method is suitable where ethanolamine solvents are used to scrub carbon dioxide gas in hydrogen generation plants. In general carbon dioxide is produced as a by product at such plants and is an acidic contaminant. Hydrogen sulfide or sulfur dioxide if present will interfere and produce high result as these are also acidic in nature.
