This method is for determining trace concentrations of iron, nickel, vanadium, copper, sodium and potassium by Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS). It can be applied to petroleum products such as crude oils, gasolines and residues, or varied organic mixtures (including nitroanilines, amines, chlorobenzenes, phenols and other related materials) produced or used in chemical manufacturing. The detection range is from 0.3 to 100 mass-ppm for iron and vanadium and from 0.1 to 100 mass-ppm for the other metals.
