Task Group E of Subcommittee XI on the Electron Microstructure of Metals of ASTM Committee E-4 on Metallography is in the midst of thin-section studies of various alloys by direct transmission electron microscopy. The precipitation hardening stainless steels are included in this program for the purpose of observing age hardening phenomena.
