Correlations Between Instrumental and Sensory Characterizations of Atmospheric Odors

Source

The characterization of an atmospheric odor depends to some extent on the confinement of the odor source and on feasible sampling procedures. Grab, concentration, and dilution sampling of atmospheric odors are described. Sensory evaluation of community malodors can be effected with the aid of odor reference standards that represent the expected sources. Correlation of such measurements with instrumental analysis is discussed.
