Quantitative Procedures for The Determination of Dirt in Crude Natural Rubber
SourceIt is well known that crude natural rubber is graded for quality by means of comparison with established type samples. The official descriptions of the types and grades of rubber describe, among other things, the foreign material that may occur. Top grades of rubber may be defined as being free from any foreign substances. Other grades may be defined as progressively lower in quality by being permitted to contain (a) slight specks, (b) small specks of bark, (c) medium-sized bark particles, (d) rust and large bark particles, etc. There are many other kinds of foreign material that are not permitted, such as sand, sludge, fiber, and miscellaneous dirt.
