Symposium on Recent Developments in the Evaluation of Natural Rubber

The papers in this book were presented at a symposium held at the 50th anniversary meeting of ASTM International Committee D11 on Rubber.
There may be a number of people who will read the papers of this collection whose experience has been chiefly with synthetic rubber and who therefore are not familiar with the methods used for evaluating or grading crude natural rubber. The introduction paper presents a brief historical sketch of the earlier attempts to introduce a new system for evaluating crude natural rubber on the basis of scientific tests performed in the laboratory. Other papers were prepared on specific topics.
