Abstract
This specification covers two types of high-content calcium carbonate pigments, Type PC and Type GC. Pigments shall be classified into six grades based on particle size, namely: Grade I (fine paint grade); Grade II (coarse paint grade); Grade III (filler grade); Grade IV (putty powder grade); Grade V (superfine grade); and Grade VI (ultrafine grade). Tests shall be conducted in accordance with the following test methods: calcium and magnesium reported as carbonate; moisture and other volatile matter; oil absorption; coarse particles; and dispersed color.
Scope
1.1 This specification covers two types of high-content calcium carbonate pigments, as follows:

1.2 Six grades of pigments, based on particle size (see 3.3) are covered.
1.3 The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as the standard. The values given in parentheses are for information only.
1.4This international standard was developed in accordance with internationally recognized principles on standardization established in the Decision on Principles for the Development of International Standards, Guides and Recommendations issued by the World Trade Organization Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Committee.
