Work Item
ASTM WK97987

Revision of D6766-25 Standard Test Method for Evaluation of Hydraulic Properties of Geosynthetic Clay Liners Permeated with Potentially Incompatible Aqueous Solutions

Rationale

This work item proposes revisions to ASTM D676 to better align with current best practices. Proposed changes include: (1) removal of Scenario I water hydration procedure while retaining leachate hydration; (2) revision of electrical conductivity (EC) termination criterion to reflect practical test variability; and (3) relocation of Appendix X1 (Falling Head Constant Tailwater Without Back Pressure Hydraulic Conductivity Test Procedure) into the main body as a second test method.
