New Specification for Hot Rubberized Asphalt Roofing and Waterproofing
1. Scope
A material specification for hot-applied rubberized asphalt for use as a roofing or waterproofing system. The new standard will include physical properties, performance criteria, and test methods for hot-applied rubberized asphalt that can be installed as a roofing or a waterproofing system.
Keywords
hot rubberized asphalt; hot-applied rubberized asphalt
Rationale
Currently, the only material standard for hot rubberized asphalt roofing and waterproofing is a former Canadian standard CGSB 37.50:M89 for Hot Applied, Rubberized Asphalt Roofing and Waterproofing. This standard has been withdrawn and is not current. The proposed new standard will set a consensus-based guideline for hot rubberized asphalt material properties. It can be used by architects and engineers to specify new roofing and waterproofing assemblies.
The title and scope are in draft form and are under development within this ASTM Committee.
