Revision of D5817-20(2025) Standard Practice for Carbon Black, Pelleted—Reduction, Blending, and Drying of Gross Samples for Testing
Rationale
D5817 was balloted for reapproval on ballot D24 25-01, Item 6. The ballot passed with no negatives or comments. However, a later review determined that some procedural sections are incorrectly labeled as “Test Method” that should be identified as a “Practice”. Also, D1937 needs to be added to the list of test methods that do not require drying. This ballot item will address those issues.
