New Test Method for Physical Assault on Vertical Mesh Barriers for Detention and Correctional Facilities
1. Scope
These test methods cover requirements for simulated service tests and testing equipment for determining the performance characteristics of vertical mesh barrier walls designed to incarcerate inmates in detention and correctional institutions. The testing equipment provides for the setup and testing of a vertical mesh barrier panel mounted side-by-side with another mesh vertical barrier panel to simulate two panels installed together in field.

Rationale
Currently no standard for detention mesh testing exists in the market place. This will provide a guide for manufactures to test their products and represent them to owners and operators and correctional facilities.
