New Guide for Carbon Monoxide Chemisorption on Supported Platinum on Alumina Catalysts Using Static Vacuum Method
1. Scope
This test method complements the static vacuum hydrogen chemisorption method, D 3908. This method is most useful as screening tools to measure relative dispersions of platinum on an alumina support. It may be extended to other supported metal systems provided that the user exercises care in optimizing the pretreatment and measurement conditions for the catalyst being tested.
Keywords

Rationale
The static vacuum CO chemisorption method is most useful as a screening tool to measure relative dispersions of platinum on an alumina support. It may be extended to other supported metal systems provided that the user exercises care in optimizing the pretreatment and measurement conditions for the catalyst being tested. The method shall prove beneficial to users of metal-supported catalysts for research and quality control applications.
The title and scope are in draft form and are under development within this ASTM Committee.
