This method is for determining total sulfur in hydrocarbons at the 0.1 to 1-ppm level and the 1-ppm or higher level. Samples may be analyzed directly if viscosity permits injection by syringe. Samples having a high content of sulfur may be analyzed after dilution with a suitable solvent. Halides in excess of 10 times the sulfur level, nitrogen content greater than 10% and heavy metals interfere with the analysis.
