Structural Aspects of Lock-Strip Gasket Glazing

Correlation studies between mock-up tests of lock-strip gasketed walls and unit push-out tests indicate a basis of developing an engineering approach to structural design paralleling the structural design procedures used for selecting glass. An exploration of the application of a lock-strip gasket for solar collectors suggests that design criteria should be determined from a statistical study of solar-climatic weather data. Further, the application of the unit-test approach will permit preliminary evaluation of new design concepts.
