Interaction of Cracks with Rigid Inclusions in Longitudinal Shear Deformation. II. Further Results
SourceThree problems dealing with the interaction of cracks with rigid cylindrical inclusions are considered for the case of longitudinal shear deformation. An accurate approximate solution is derived for a crack perpendicular to the line of centers and midway between the two inclusions. Also, two simple closed form solutions are presented for a rigid fiber imperfectly bonded to the matrix. Application of the results to fracture of composite materials is considered.
