This method is intended for the routine titrimetric measurement of acidity or alkalinity in industrial water except that which (1) is highly polluted with industrial wastes, (2) contains buffering materials at the end point, or (3) contains materials that will interfere with the titration by reason of color, precipitation, etc. It is particularly applicable to boiler and service waters and to the analysis of those samples incidental to the control of water treating systems.
