Shear Characteristics of Remolded Earth Materials
SourceThe shearing characteristics of several earth materials remolded and placed at different densities and moistures are presented in this paper. The shearing strengths were determined by the triaxial method and the results were analyzed by a failure criterion known as the “maximum principle stress ratio.” Although the entire research program has been planned to include tests at several density and moisture conditions on materials ranging from sand to fairly plastic clays, only a portion of this comprehensive program has been completed. The results of triaxial shear tests completed to date are Dresented in this paper.
