Source

History of the growth of airline oil procurement practices is given with principal events leading up to present conditions. The oil procurement procedures of a large airline are outlined in detail. The only conclusive methods for aviation oil evaluation at present are cumbersome and expensive, and the need for more valid laboratory tests upon which specifications could be based is noted.
