Eastman Kodak Purchase Specifications for Lubricants

The Eastman Kodak Co. has used specifications in the purchase of its lubricants for approximately eighteen years. Fourteen specifications for oils, and five for greases, have provided suitable lubricants for all but a few applications where the use of special products is indicated. Five additional oil specifications are under consideration at the present time to describe the additive type of lubricants. A discussion of a tentative specification for an additive type of lubrication (see Appendix A) will indicate the use of the specifications and our philosophy.
