The Diffusion of Corrosion Products in Hot-Salt Stress-Corrosion Cracking of Titanium
SourceAn experimental technique is described for separating the gaseous, liquid, and solid reaction products generated by the hot-salt corrosion of titanium. By use of this procedure, it is shown that the product that causes cracking is not a gas and hence would not be expected to be washed away by a fast moving air stream in service.
