Challenges in Atomic Spectroscopy
SourceThree areas of research and development in the field of atomic spectroscopy are discussed and attention called to some of the challenging problems that exist in these areas. In view of the scope of the work to be covered justice cannot be done to any one topic but it is hoped that some of the information may prove of value even if only from the standpoint of broadening one's perspective. The topics to be discussed are: 1. Isotope spectrum shifts and their application to isotopic assay, 2. Atomic energy levels and spectrum line information, and 3. Thermonuclear applications of spectroscopy.
