Irreversible Effects of High Temperature and High Pressure on Organic Materials
SourceEquipment and techniques employed in ultrahigh-pressure-compression treatment of polymeric materials are described. Results of exploratory studies with several organic polymers, semiorganic compounds, and several chemical compounds are presented and discussed with respect to similar or related studies found in the literature. Physical and structural changes were found as a result of compression treatment on different materials. Although generically related materials appeared to have somewhat similar compression behavior, no general compression effect was observed.
