Investigation of Strain Gages for Long-Time Static Testing to 650 F

Results are presented of a series of tests on the performance of HT 600 wire strain gages, at elevated temperatures over long periods of time. These gages showed no zero shift at temperatures below 650 F in over 300 hr of testing. The gage-to-gage consistency in the apparent strain versus temperature curves was within ±150 microinches per in. to 600 F.
