Chapter VII Thermal Loading of Water Supplies
SourceThe discharge of heated water to streams, lakes, estuaries, and ground water can cause various effects. Some of these are detrimental while others are beneficial for subsequent uses of the receiving water. Heated discharges constitute a fairly new problem in water quality control but it is one that is attracting increasing attention. The ill effects are relatively minor at present but they may eventually become serious where thermal loading is tending to increase.
