Effects of South Florida Weathering on Structural Adhesive Joints

Physical strengths were obtained on several structural adhesive systems at temperatures ranging from −67 to 350 F. (−55 to 177 C) after exposure to one-, two-, or three-year weather aging periods in South Florida. Included were adhesive systems of various chemical types and different physical forms. Both room-temperature-curing and heat-curing classes were included. In general, it was concluded that overlap shear, honeycomb peel, and honeycomb beam flexure strengths were unaffected.
