Methods of Evaluating Sonic Cleaning Systems

Source

Four methods to control sonic-cleaning production steps have been suggested: (1) erosion of aluminum foil, (2) heat rise, (3) total sound pressure probe (microphone), and (4) transducer amplitude. These were tested, and the last measurement of amplitude of the sonic transducer radiating surface, was found to be the most useful for both in-process control and procurement specification control.
