Chemical Factors in the use and Handling of Electronic Grade Hydrogen Peroxide
SourceHydrogen peroxide is a simple but versatile chemical. From a modest beginning as a medicinal agent and hair bleach, its use has extended into a number of unrelated industries ranging from textiles, where it is the prime bleaching agent for cottons, to food processing and to propellants. One of the newer uses for hydrogen peroxide which is expanding rapidly is as a cleaning and etching agent in the manufacture of electronic components (1–8). Hydrogen peroxide is particularly suitable for such surface treatment since it leaves no deleterious residues but yields only water and oxygen upon decomposition or drying.
