Portable Low-Cost Polyethylene Ultraclean Assembly Areas
SourceThis paper presents a concept in the design and construction of ultraclean assembly areas for use in the electron tube industry. The construction costs of this room may be reduced to approximately 10 per cent of costs normally encountered in conventional clean rooms by using nylon reinforced polyethylene for the entire enclosure.
The discussion is divided into two sections: the design, construction, and operation of the clean room; and, secondly, the monitoring and detection of contaminants. Employment of the principles established as good practice in clean-room operations has resulted in an efficient, low-cost installation
