A Portable Proximity Probe for Detection of Moisture Within a Laminate

As the presence of moisture within a laminate may indicate a weakening of the laminate or a leak in the liner during hydrotest, a moisture detector was developed to detect this moisture by a proximity probe that need only be applied to one side of the laminate. The probe does not indicate the quantity of moisture present in absolute terms, which depends on distance from the moisture, but it gives good relative values.
