Committee D-19 recommends to the Society the publication as information only of the following abbreviated method of test for acidity and alkalinity. The method has been prepared at the request of the chairman of the Chemical Section, Subcommittee on the Care of Pressure Vessels in Service, of the Boiler Code Committee of The American Society of Mechanical Engineers, for inclusion in a subsequent revision of Section 7 on the Care of Power Boilers, of the ASME Boiler Test Code.
