D 859 - 55 T Tentative Methods of Test for Silica in Industrial Water and Industrial Waste Water
Source(a) These methods cover the determination of silica in industrial water and industrial waste water. The following three methods are included: Sections Referee Method (Gravimetric Method) 5 to 11, Non-Referee Method A (Colorimetric Method) 12 to 20, Non-Referee Method B (Colorimetric Method) 21 to 29, (b) The Referee Method covers gravimetric, acid-dehydration procedures; it is independent of interferences, and is a primary measure of total silica in water. The Non-Referee Methods are colorimetric determinations, and are secondary measures of crystalloidal (noncolloidal) silica in that they must be standardized against the Referee Method or primary silica standards.
