Techniques for Ferrous Electron Metallography

The first two reports of Subcommittee XI of Committee E-4 on Metallography presented the results of a cooperative study with the electron microscope of the structures of a series of specimens of eutectoid steel prepared specially for the purpose. The structures studied to date include those resulting from the direct transformation of austenite at various temperatures, such as pearlites and bainites, and those resulting from tempering martensite, also at various temperatures.
