Effect of Temperature on the Properties of Nitrided Alloys
SourceSpecial interest is presented by the nitrided steels, because of the fact that they can be made to have a higher order of hardness (1000 to 1200 Brinell) than high-speed and case-carburized steels (700 to 800 Brinell) and, therefore, present possibilities of supplying a material which will retain an unusual order of hardness, even at elevated temperatures.
