Zinc Alloys for High- and Low-Temperature Service
SourceIn a recent issue of Metals and Alloys (7) there appeared an editorial entitled “The Cheapest 99.9-per-cent Metal.” It appears from the table in this editorial that zinc is the cheapest non-ferrous metal suitable for structural purposes when the comparison is made either on the basis of unit weight or unit volume. For those applications for which zinc can be economically fabricated so as to have the required properties, it would appear that either the pure metal or its alloys should have considerable economic justification.
