The Mechanical Properties of Metals at Elevated Temperatures
SourceAt low and medium temperatures, a large number of metals and alloys seem endowed with perfect elasticity so far as light stresses are concerned; the deformation, almost proportional to the load, essentially disappears with it. The existence of solids strictly elastic has therefore been acknowledged and on this idea the whole theory of elasticity has been erected.
