The section of the symposium devoted to a description of the power station requirements has been divided into three parts: boilers, piping and turbines. This paper deals with the second item: namely, piping. Included under this heading are pipe, valves, flanges, fittings, bolts or studs, nuts, and the component parts of valves: namely, bodies and bonnets, seat and disk rings, and stems.
