Inasmuch as this symposium is arranged somewhat as a balancing between what the industry can ask for and that which the metallurgist may be able to produce, it might be well to state that the requirements put forward in this paper are for the immediate future only. As to the ultimate requirements the author is not prepared to hazard even a guess.
