A Laboratory Test for Determining Susceptibility of Nickel-Molybdenum and Nickel-Molybdenum-Chromium Alloys to Intercrystalline Corrosion and Its Use in Development of Resistant Alloys
SourceNickel-base alloys containing molybdenum and chromium frequently have been employed in chemical industry as particularly corrosion resistant materials where the resistance of the known austenitic chromium-nickel steels failed to be adequate. In the light of their high strength at elevated temperatures they are suited for reaction apparatus operating under high pressures and at high temperature. Frequently they find application as cladding material.
