Observations of Dislocations in thin Foils of Stainless Steel with the Electron Microscope

Source

Techniques for preparing thin foils for direct observations of dislocations in metals with the electron microscope will be discussed and illustrated. Typical dislocation arrays in annealed deformed and polygonized stainless steel will be shown. The results of controlled deformation in the electron microscope with a specimen straining device will also be included.
