A Simple Application of the Carbon Replica Technique

A slight modification in the preparation of negative replicas of metal surfaces is described that seems to combine advantages of the negative and of the carbon replicas and to overcome some of their disadvantages. The method is applicable when a negative replica can be dry stripped from the specimen and is sufficiently thin for direct examination in the electron microscope.
