Fatigue Testing Machines for Ball and Roller Bearings

Fatigue testing machines for ball and roller bearings are used primarily for improvement of product; they compare proposed changes in material, heat treatment, or mechanical details; they serve occasionally to locate field troubles that cause fatigue failures, and as a check of production quality. They are not employed to determine sizes for new designs, since actual field loading is so difficult to predetermine and reproduce. This is true of all fatigue testing; however, there are some long-run tests for capacity determinations.
