An Investigation of the Dynamic Mechanical Properties of Polyethylene
SourceA study was made of the effect of branching and thermal history of polyethylene on its dynamic mechanical properties. The polymers used were an injection-molded linear polyethylene, with and without annealing, and an injection-molded branched polyethylene. The dynamic test apparatus was operated over a frequency range of 1(T2 to 102 cps and a temperature range of - 70 to 100 C. This temperature and frequency range includes the α and β transitions of polyethylene. These transitions are observed as peaks in the loss modulus curves.
