Smoke Contribution Factor in Fire Hazard Classification of Building Materials
SourceThe use of tunnel test to classify smoke produced by surface burning is examined. The tunnel test ratings have been compared with the impressions of persons exposed to the same conditions. New concept of smoke collection for measurement was used to make comparisons. Results indicate considerable errors in interpretation of tunnel test results are prevalent. Suggest new basis for interpretation of results and a new method of measurement.
