Quality Control of Getters

The getter is probably the only part in an electron tube which in most cases is bought from specialized firms and not produced by the manufacturers of electron tubes. Often the tube manufacturers use the getter without checking its properties, and know very little about its behavior and characteristics. For this reason a description of the various problems involved in getter quality control may be of interest.
