Dust has always been with us and, accordingly, its name bears a variety of emotional connotations derived from personal experiences. While these emotional reactions to dust are a part of the over-all problem to be considered, we are mainly concerned with dust technically as an array of finely divided particulate matter, each particle having unique physical, chemical, and optical characteristics.
