A Study of Dislocations in Thin Aluminum Foils Elongated in the Electron Microscope
SourceTensile experiments are described which have been conducted with thin aluminum foils approximately 1000 Å thick. It was the aim of this investigation to obtain information on the origin of dislocations and their behavior in thin foils during plastic flow. The method of observation was by transmission electron microscopy, as first described by Hirsch, Horne, and Whelan (l), and by Bollmann (2).
