Summary of Methods for Determining Pozzolanic Activity
SourceThe testing of pozzolanic materials has been studied by investigators for over a hundred years. For the most part, strength values have been the basis used in comparing the results obtainable by quicker methods. However, inasmuch as some other quality may be more important than strength in specific applications of pozzolans, strength is not a universal basis. This paper summarizes the various types of tests which have been proposed, with particular emphasis on techniques now in use.
