Monitoring Oxides of Nitrogen — An Overview
SourceOxides of nitrogen are an important parameter to be measured in ambient air monitoring, occupational health studies, source emission, and engine exhaust analyses. There are six commercially instrumented methods now available for their measurement: wet chemical colorimetric, chemiluminescence, electro-chemical, infrared, ultraviolet, and correlation spectrometry. These methods vary in sophistication, application, and cost and exhibit different advantages and disadvantages which must be considered in determining the most applicable instrument for a specific monitoring purpose.
