It is rather beside the point to discuss the history of titanium pigments, since the data have been published so frequently during their development; yet, because of the fact that these products have experienced such a remarkable growth, it may not be amiss to point out that the element titanium was discovered only about 140 years ago, and that the pigments have been known to the consuming trade for only about 20 years.
