Water Vapor Diffusion Through Insulated, Masonry Building Walls
SourceThe transfer of water vapor through insulated masonry walls is considered in a series of tests in an experimental station.
To discover under what conditions condensation will take place, calculations based on Glaser's theory and conventional permeability values are made, then the theoretical predictions are compared with experimental results.
Conclusions are that predictions are pessimistic. It is shown that a vapor barrier system is not the definitive solution for preventing condensation on a masonry wall.
